Market & Mutual Fund Weekly Wrap Up including Gold-Oil-Precious Metals-Nat. Gas… | Financial Investment Services

March 28, 2009

The recent rally on Wall St. and globally may be a glimpse of  investor confidence showing through and causing the markets to finally show some resiliency.   Is the rally sustainable?  Who knows, but consumers have begun spending again and some sectors of the market place are showing signs of recovery.  This could lead one to believe economic conditions generally may be about to stabilize and move forward finally.

Whether this upbeat trend will continue short term/longer term could be determined when economic data and earnings reports become available.  Most would probably agree market conditions will fluctuate and remain vulnerable during this financial recovery period.

Best Performance Mutual Funds:

1 month:  Greater China Equity Funds

1 month:  Financial Services Equity Funds

3 month:  Precious Metals Equity Funds

Worst Performance Mutual Funds:

1 month:  N/A  to report

3 month:  Real Estate Equity Funds

Personal Portfolio Holdings:

50 percent:  Creststreet  Alternative Energy  (chart)

25 percent:  Dynamic Precious Metals  (chart)

25 percent:  Money Market and Cash

May ask my financial advisor to make a few changes in the coming weeks.  Precious Metals funds have been doing too well in the last few months and may not be sustainable, while Creststreet Alternative Energy still looks good.  I have also been waiting for China and natural resources funds to start heading back to respectability.
