Market & Mutual Fund Weekly Wrap Up including Gold – Oil – Precious Metals… | Financial Investment Services

February 28, 2009

Dow Jones Industrial Average keeps on sinking and nears the 6,000 mark as President Obama’s $1.75 Trillion dollar deficit recovery budget meets some political opposition. This budget could be likened to a rocket ship ready for lift off, just waiting for interfering thunder clouds to move away from the launching pad. Those opposed to specific portions of the budget are of course the interference that may preclude a perfect launch.

The many contentious issues to be dissected and debated thoroughly include major changes to health care, farm subsidies, pollution tax issues and increased taxation of wealthier American families.

Other bad news for the week included Citigroup bank investors were obviously nervous and selling their shares on news the Fed. will be getting a large stake in this facility in return for bailout monies received. Will other banks and major corporations be following suit in the near future? Should be an interesting scenario in the coming months.
